Those games were created as part of a contest, and I don't think we ever got source code for them. Also they were never tested on anything later than Windows XP computers circa 2005. So (1) running on a modern XP box will be difficult (2) running on Windows Vista is unlikely and (3) running on Windows 7 might just not be possible. Your only chance would be to try to contact the original developers (BuZySoft and SopiSoft) and try to get them to release a new build. However since both their websites are down, this would also be quite difficult.

If I recall correctly, The Secret of Coolness has graphics settings before it loads. Did you try all of these settings? Reducing/increasing some setting might stop the flashing. No guarantees though (see above).

Other than that, I don't know. Do they even make a Win XP emulator for Win 7?

Hello,I still have the a-socj ellipse now cd but downloaded this version, because my cd was..... broken....
BUT I can't get defeating doctor robotica and secret of coolness to work with windows 7.
On DDR I get a memory access violation error, and the secret of coolness keeps flashing!
I've tried all the compatability mode stuff, but it just won't work.
Please fix this

The menu easter eggs are mostly similar to those on Homestar Runner; i.e. you need to move the mouse in various places around the menu and when something changes color or a graphic appears, click on it to get the easter egg.

While "The Fall of Kan" does finish the storyline, it does it in a bizarre way. Though I suppose you should expect that at this point. Also it CAN be defeated, however I intentionally made it very difficult.

It's great to hear you started the series with Pacula's Curse. That's definitely the most polished game actually made Astral Entertainment members; it was made at that crucial point when we still had money from ValuSoft but Hasbro Interactive hadn't blacklisted "Pac"-everything yet. However most people either seem to have started with Pac Pack (for obvious reasons) or ASEN (since we promoted it a lot and it had newer looking graphics, though still slightly out of date at time it was made).

Also, just wanted to say, found your games through the Pacula's Curse shareware that came with a pc gaming magazine a hundred years ago, and thoroughly enjoyed them, more for the off-bend humour more than anything.
